8D is proud to be part of the Horizon Europe project European Food Fraud Community of Practice: From Outset to Operation<\/em> (EFF-CoP). With \u20ac2 million funding under Horizon Europe Coordination and Support Actions, the project is led by Professor Saskia van Ruth, Professor of Food Supply Chain Integrity at UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science. Together with scientists, regulators, businesses, and other stakeholders the consortium will work on innovative solutions to combat food fraud. <\/strong><\/strong>
<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food fraud is the intentional manipulation, mislabeling, or falsification of food products for financial gain. Professor Saskia van Ruth: \u201cFood fraud reaches every dining table in the world and undermines the trust in our foods. The EFF-CoP project will establish and mobilise an unprecedented collaborative 5000 member+ community of scientists, regulators, small- and large-sized businesses in food supply chains and laboratories in driving research and innovation for food authenticity to create a future of greater traceability and confidence in our foods. Anyone interested in joining the community is welcome. EFF-CoP will revolutionise how we combat food fraud, promoting fair competition across food businesses and enhancing consumer faith across Europe.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creatieve interventions for social change<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The project will utilize innovative engagement and collaboration tools, including food fraud festivals, gamification-based training courses, living labs, an \u2018Authentic Appetites\u2019 podcast series, webinars, virtual caf\u00e9s, a food fraud incident preparedness workshop, and dedicated events for the future generation. This creative, human-centered approach aligns perfectly with our mission and expertise: making scientific knowledge effectively accessible to diverse audiences by co-creating new tools and interventions. We look forward to collaborating and gaining valuable insights from this project on interdisciplinary, international, and human-centered approaches to tackling societal challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
